Chris Thorsheim was part of the New York Red Bulls U-23 team that won the NPSL championship in 2014, and the Academy product advanced to a Homegrown Player contract with RBNY when he emerged from college in 2015. But his stint as a full-time pro with the Red Bulls was short-lived: Thorsheim was cut scarcely four months into his RBNY career, one of three Homegrowns (Mael Corboz and Scott Thomsen being the others; all three players were officially signed on the same day and cut within about two weeks of each other) who didn't make it through their first preseason.
