Canada was swept aside by Morocco in Marrakesh, losing 4-0 in a match that started badly for the Canadians and ended worse.
The first goal was conceded in the 12th minute, but Canada survived a few scares to hold host Morocco to a 1-0 lead at half-time. In the second half, however, the wheels came off. A penalty conceded in the 65th minute dropped the Canadians into a 2-0 hole; another penalty in the 81st minute made it 3-0. The fourth goal was added in the 86th minute.
Injury to 'keeper Milan Borjan in the 71st minute added to the insult of the resounding loss.
