Cameroon got off to a solid start in Group B of the third and final stage of CAF qualifying for Russia 2018. Despite conceding an early goal, the Indomitable Lions held their own against group-favorite Algeria. The equalizer arrived midway through the first half, and Cameroon held on for the 1-1 draw.
Head coach Hugo Broos pronounced himself satisfied with the result, saying "I will not be choosy" about picking up a point against the team he regards as the best in Africa.
