Buckmaster on First Professional Assist: 'Something I Will Never Forget'

On June 26, NYRB II defender Rece Buckmaster crossed in a perfect ball to the foot of Mathias Jørgensen, who slotted it in the back of the net, this was supposed to be his first professional assist.

Unfortunately, the assist would not count due to the match against Nashville SC being abandoned due to severe weather. The search for Buckmaster’s first assist would continue.

On July 13, Buckmaster would find his first assist, when he took down a long ball from Marcus Epps and played it in the box for Jared Stroud to get his second goal of the day in a 8-1 victory.
