Rangers prospect Yegor Rykov has seen his rights traded in the KHL as his former team, SKA Saint Peterburg, have swapped him to rival CSKA Moscow.
The 23-year-old defenseman struggled in his first North American season. Injuries kept him out for the first half of the season and, although he ha some strong performances in the AHL upon returning to health, he equally drew the ire of the coaching staff at times and wound up in the press box on multiple occasions.
Rykov was notably excluded from the Rangers’ expanded postseason roster.
