There are nerves and excitement, and the Rangers can hardly wait for the puck to drop on Game 7 of this second-round series against the Capitals on Wednesday night at the Garden.
“Leading up the game, there are going to be butterflies,” captain Ryan McDonagh said Wednesday morning, “but as soon as you get out there, you have a hockey game to play and that’s what we love to do. It’s a great opportunity.”
The Rangers have had an outstanding record in elimination games over the past four seasons, going 13-3. They’re 9-0 in elimination games at the Garden going back to 2008 and are 5-0 at home in Game 7s.
