What Rick Nash learned from Rangers’ Game 7 heartbreak

For the second straight year, Rick Nash’s summer was short, which meant it was long.

One year after falling in overtime of the Stanley Cup final, Nash and the Presidents’ Trophy-winning Rangers’ incredible season ended in incomprehensible fashion when they were shut out at home — for the second time in three games — by the Lightning in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals.

“I spent the whole summer trying to figure out what went wrong in that game,” Nash said Thursday afternoon. “It’s always hard to bury the past, what happened losing Game 7 at home, but one of our goals this year is to erase last year and move on.
