Ty Emberson should get a serious look at Rangers training camp

On Thursday, the New York Rangers re-signed defenseman Ty Emberson to a one-year deal. Per PuckPedia, it’s a two-way contract with an AAV of $775,000 and an AHL salary of $85,000.

The 23 year-old was acquired as part of the trade that sent defenseman Patrik Nemeth, a 2025 second-round pick, and a conditional second-round pick in 2026 to the Arizona Coyotes on July 13, 2022.

Last season, he registered 7 goals and 20 assists for 27 points in 69 regular-season games for the Hartford Wolf Pack with a +17 rating. Emberson was also recognized as the AHL’s Eastern Conference Best Defensive Defenseman.
