The Rangers welcomed back Tony DeAngelo last week when he finally agreed to a one-year, $925,000 deal. DeAngelo being back in the fold now means Brenden Smith will most likely be the team’s 7th defenseman and you can be sure Rangers brass will give DeAngelo every opportunity to have a big year. And well… frankly DeAngelo needs to have one for the team and himself.
You see, there’s a good chance that within the next 24 months, he will have to worry about two defenseman that are coming to take jobs on the Rangers blueline in K’Andre Miller and Nils Lundkvist.
