Gerard Gallant will lead the New York Rangers at the start of the 2021-2022 season. The organization’s 36th head coach in the rich history of the franchise has been hired per Larry Brooks of the New York Post.

Gallant has had an impressive coaching career in the NHL. The 57-year-old began his coaching career with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2003. Following a three-year stint there, he went on to be the head coach of the Florida Panthers in 2014 seven years later.
