Sam Rosen on why Jimmy Vesey has handled jump to NHL so well

MSG play-by-play man Sam Rosen, the 2016 Foster Hewitt Memorial Award winner for outstanding contributions as a hockey broadcaster, talks about the Rangers start, Jimmy Vesey’s fast acclimation to the NHL and Jeff Gorton’s offseason moves with The Post’s Ryan Lazo.

Q: What has been the difference between last year’s start and this year’s?

A: I think the biggest contrast is last year’s start was largely on the back of Henrik Lundqvist’s superb play. Half of those 16 games won may have been direct results of his great goaltending. The start this season is because of overall team play, balance and depth.
