With the last two playoff spots in the Eastern Conference still up for grabs, the Rangers paid a visit to their biggest rivals who are among the team’s fighting for those remaining spots. The Islanders rode into this one on a four game win streak as they recently pushed the Flyers out of third place in the division. Believe it or not, this would be the Rangers first trip to Long Island this season as this was just the second game of the year between the two, their first since the Stadium Series.
