Prior to tonight’s game, the New York Rangers honored the 25th anniversary of their 1994 Stanley Cup winning team, and it was a brilliant presentation by the Rangers and Madison Square Garden. However, when it came down to the game, the Rangers just couldn’t seem to catch a bounce in their favor. The Hurricanes also put together quite a defensive performance in their own zone, and despite the Rangers coming close on several occasions, they kept the scoreboard clean.
The first goal of this game came nearly 46 minutes after the opening faceoff, and it was the Hurricanes taking the first lead of the night.
