Rangers Roundup: Staal surgery, Mika still out, and more

Today in Rangerstown, there were a couple of updates as the team went outdoors at Lasker Rink for a team practice.

Marc Staal underwent surgery on his ankle due to an infection after a blocked shot. Staal will be out for about two weeks and will be evaluated then. So far, no call up has been announced to fill the roster spot.

David Quinn also announced that Mike Zibanejad will not start versus the Panthers at MSG. Mika was not on the ice for today’s outdoor practice.

It was also announced that Henrik Lundqvist will start tomorrow versus Florida.
