The Rangers added some fiber and — gasp! — experience to the needy right side of the blue line by acquiring Adam McQuaid from the Bruins on Tuesday in exchange for Steven Kampfer and a fourth-round draft pick, The Post has learned.
McQuaid, who will turn 32 on Oct. 12, joins righties Kevin Shattenkirk, Neal Pionk and Tony DeAngelo on the depth chart. Lefties Brendan Smith and Fredrik Claesson are also options on their off side for head coach David Quinn’s squad that will open training camp on Friday. DeAngelo, by the way, is no longer waivers-exempt.
