Rangers could be starting playoffs without Ryan McDonagh

Ryan McDonagh finished last season’s playoffs playing on a broken right foot. It appears that this year’s playoffs start with McDonagh suffering from a broken bone in his right hand, but it is not clear whether the captain will be able to play with it when the first round commences next Wednesday or Thursday.

Sources have told The Post that while McDonagh is not expected to be sidelined longterm, he very well could miss the first few games of the opening round with the break he sustained Monday in Columbus blocking a Brandon Dubinsky shot at 14:47 of the first period of the Blueshirts’ playoff clinching 4-2 victory.
