BOSTON — It took an emergency for the Rangers to recall Pavel Buchnevich after just one AHL game in which the rookie recorded three points (two goals, one assists), including the overtime winner in the Wolf Pack’s 4-3 victory Wednesday over Springfield.
When Michael Grabner left the ice during Wednesday’s practice, after taking a crosscheck from Adam Clendening during a battle drill, that left the Rangers with only 11 healthy known commodities up front in advance of Thursday’s match against the Bruins. Grabner made the trip, but did not participate in the morning skate for extras, at which only backup goalie Antti Raanta was on the ice.
