Rangers Bounce Back With Big Win Over Detroit

After a dismal effort against the Senators on Monday, the Rangers bounced back in a big way with a 5-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

Before the game, David Quinn announced that alternate captain Marc Staal and Greg McKegg would return to the lineup. Lias Andersson and Ryan Lindgren would be healthy scratches for the night.

After an uneventful first period, the Rangers came out strong in the second period. First, a power play goal from Tony DeAngelo, which was direct from a Brendan Lemieux spin move in front of the net.

Then, a Chris Kreider wrist shot from a cross ice pass from Pavel Buchnevich was buried past Howard to give New York a 2-0 lead.
