The New York Rangers have assigned veteran forward Phil Di Giuseppe to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL. The Rangers called Di Giuseppe up from the Wolf Pack on Dec. 22.
Today, Dec. 27, marks the end of the holiday roster freeze, which is almost certainly the cause of this move happening today. Of course, Di Giuseppe did not appear in the Rangers’ lineup on Dec. 22 against the Anaheim Ducks or on Dec. 23 against the Flyers. He was brought up due to growing number of nagging injuries impacting the Blueshirts’ forwards.
