After a one assist, two goal game (including an OT winner) in the AHL the New York Rangers have recalled rookie winger Pavel Buchnevich.
The Rangers have a few forwards who are battling injuries including Mika Zibanejad, Michael Grabner and Jesper Fast who will be out for 2-3 weeks with a separated shoulder. Bringing back Buchnevich makes perfect sense.
Before being sent down to the AHL Buchnevich was a healthy scratch for three consecutive games. The purpose behind him being sent to the minors was to make room for Steven Kampfer on the roster and to get the winger “a few games”.
