Othmann supplants Lafreniere in top six in today’s practice lines

It should come as no surprise given the discourse the last few days, as Alexis Lafreniere has been removed from the top six, at least for now, based on today’s practice lines. Brennan Othmann is skating on the second line with Chris Kreider and Vincent Trocheck, while Kaapo Kakko is on the top line. Lafreniere was moved to the third line.

#NYR lines and D pairs at practice:

Panarin-Zibanejad-Kakko
Kreider-Trocheck-Othmann
Lafrenière-Goodrow-Wheeler
Vesey-Bonino-Pitlick
Brodzinski and Cuylle skating as extras

Lindgren-Fox
Miller-Trouba
Gustafsson-Schneider
Jones-Harpur

Without Filip Chytil in the lineup, it looks a little weak with Barclay Goodrow as the center on the third line, but again they are missing Chytil.
