What happened on April 7 in the history of the New York Rangers

Today was the date of one of the most famous Stanley Cup Playoffs games in NHL history. It was 1928 and the New York Rangers were in the Stanley Cup Final against the Montreal Maroons. They had beaten the Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Bruins to make it to the best of five final series.
