As I wrote during the offseason, the New York Rangers were not likely to name a captain this season. Per David Quinn today, the Blueshirts will go with four alternates again.
Both Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider will retain their “A” from last season while Jacob Trouba and Artemi Panarin will get the other two. They will be replacing Jesper Fast and Marc Staal from last season.
