New York Rangers: Ty Ronning signs entry level contract

Ty Ronning has finally penned an entry-level deal with the New York Rangers. The news broke on Monday afternoon.

The Rangers drafted him in the seventh round (201st overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. The forward currently plays for the Vancouver Giants of the WHL.

He has been playing for them since the 2013-2014 season and has been serving as an assistant captain for them since the 2016-2017 season. This year, so far, he has 77 points (55 goals and 22 assists) in 64 games. That averages out to 1.20 points per game. The league also named him a WHL All-Star last year, recording one assist for a total of one point in the exhibition game.
