New York Rangers trim 8 players from training camp including Ty Ronning

New York Rangers general manager Jeff Gorton announced the team has reduced its training camp roster by eight players on Tuesday.

There were no surprise moves made, though the Ty Ronning cut seemed a bit early. Many believed he would have been able to get into one preseason game prior to being sent down to Hartford.

Sean Day, Brandon Halverson, Dawson Leedahl, Chris Neil, Vince Pedrie and Ty Ronning were all sent to the AHL Hartford Wolf Pack’s version of training camp.

Nico Gross was returned to his minor league team, the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League.
