New York Rangers: Thoughts on Shattenkirk, DeAngelo, Andersson

The New York Rangers’ will go into tonight’s game against the Colorado Avalanche with some notable changes to their lineup.

The first and most notable change is that Kevin Shattenkirk will be out indefinitely with a torn meniscus in his left knee. The Rangers called up defenseman Tony DeAngelo and forward Daniel Catenacci just before announcing that their prized free agent acquisition would be out of the lineup for the foreseen future.

The team also assigned seventh overall pick, Lias Andersson, to play for the Hartford Wolfpack. He will begin skating with them once he’s done nursing a shoulder injury that he sustained in the World Junior Championships.
