After agreeing to terms on a contract extension with defenseman Dylan McIlrath, the New York Rangers made two more pickups in the free agent pool soon after. First off, the Rangers inked former Calgary Flames forward Josh Jooris. Jooris’ salary for the deal was not immediately known but based on the $975,000 he made last year, it may be somewhere near the million dollar mark.
Jooris became an unrestricted free agent after the Calgary Flames elected to not give him a qualifying offer in June. The 26-year-old was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Flames in 2013 and played in 59 games this past season notching four goals and nine assists for a total of 13 points.
