The New York Rangers re-signed restricted free agent, Marek Hrivik, in what was a smart move by management. The 6’2″, 200 pound forward has shown a lot of potential down in the AHL and he still has plenty of time to grow as a hockey player at just 23 years old.
Last season with the Hartford Wolfpack, Hrivik recorded 12 goals and 33 points in 72 games, finishing with a +8 plus/minus rating. The Slovakia native also picked up three goals and nine points over 15 games in the playoffs. Impressively, that’s about a point every other game, whether it be in the regular season or the postseason.
