The good news for fans of he New York Rangers is that Olof Lindbom was the starting goalie for Sweden. Also starting for Sweden was center Karl Henriksson and for team USA, Zac Jones started on left defense. The bad news is Lindbom was strafed for six goals in a 6-0 loss to a loaded U.S. squad.
Ranger fans haven’t had a lot of opportunities to see the team’s 2018 second rounder in action and it wasn’t a bad game for the Swedish netminder. After the United States killed off a two man disadvantage in the first period, the Swedes were hard pressed to keep up with the Americans as Lindbom faced 35 shots, most of them difficult.
