The New York Rangers have recalled Marek Hrivik from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.
After scouting the Hartford Wolf Pack's game last night, the New York Rangers have made their recall official and brought up 24-year-old Marek Hrivik. This will be Hrivik's first real chance with the Rangers, and while he isn't a standout option, this is certainly a refreshing move from a management perspective. The Rangers have always went the "safe" route, ala Daniel Paille, which almost never works out over the long haul.
Now, they have went in a different direction and put their trust in a younger commodity, who will be used primarily in a defensive role.
