Game 4 started out as bad as could be for the New York Rangers in Pittsburgh. In the 1st period, the Pittsburgh Penguins came out flying, beat the Rangers to every lose puck, and their forecheck pressure forced the Rangers into a considerable amount of turnovers. The period ended with the Rangers only recording 2 measly shots on goal, however, a huge win for the Rangers in that period was that the Penguins were only leading on the scoreboard 1-0 after the 1st.
About halfway through the 2nd period, the Rangers started taking over the game and were able to tie the game at 1, on a goal by Rangers’ center, Derick Brassard, before the end of the 2nd.
