Much has been made about the return the New York Rangers got for their assets at the trade deadline. They got a boatload of top prospects and more top draft picks than an organization starved for draft picks has seen in years. But it wasn’t enough.
The Rangers traded away five veteran NHL players and in return got three NHL veterans, five prospects along with two first round picks, two second round picks, a third round pick and a seventh round pick. So, five warm bodies for as many as 14 warm bodies. Sounds great, right?
If you look at the trades straight up, the Rangers won the Boston and New Jersey trades.
