For the New York Rangers, the 2018-19 season is going to be one full of growing pains. But there is one player who cannot afford to go through any growing pains, Jimmy Vesey.
As general manager Jeff Gorton started to break apart their roster at the trade deadline a season, it became apparent that he was placing an emphasis on young talent. He was taking the risk of believing in players like Vesey, Brady Skjei, Mika Zibanejad, Kevin Hayes and many others. While those players did step up and show Gorton what he needed to see, Vesey seemed to be the lone player with a question mark next to his name.
