New York Rangers grab OT win against Detroit

It wasn’t the prettiest effort the New York Rangers have ever put together, but it got them the all-important two points and that’s really all that matters at this point in time.

With a new face in the lineup in Marek Hrivik, who got the call up after Daniel Paille was put on waivers, and the young Dylan McIlrath back on defense to replace the injured Ryan McDonagh, it was hoped that the Rangers would get a bit of a boost.

Instead, the game fell on familiar shoulders. Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist only faced 22 shots on the evening, but he was perfect in stopping all 22 of them, even with the extra time.
