For the past 12 seasons, Henrik Lundqvist has been the most consistent face for New York Rangers fans to see in the net. He has always been considered an above average goaltender, but that began to change over the last few years. Like most, if not all, players, his skills began to diminish.
Although still remarkable, Lundqvist’s numbers took a dive over the 2016-2017 season. His save percentage (Sv%) dropped to .910, a career low. Additionally, he had only two shutouts, also a career low. His average amount of goals allowed (GAA, or goals allowed average) also slumped to the highest it has ever been at 2.
