New York Rangers analysis: Kings dominate on Sunday night

After a brief two-game winning streak, the New York Rangers have now strung together consecutive losses. Like the game in Denver on Saturday, the Rangers were thoroughly outplayed by the Kings.

The Rangers started out strong, controlling the first ten minutes of the game and taking an early 2-0 lead. But after Jimmy Vesey’s rebound goal midway through the first, it was all Los Angeles.

Brendan Smith took a roughing minor at the end of the first, and the Kings capitalized on the ensuing power play. A continuing parade to the penalty box resulted in three straight goals on the man advantage for Los Angeles.
