Going into the 2019 Entry Draft, the New York Rangers had one clear need. There is a shortage of depth at forward positions compared to defense, where they are very deep. Of course, they went with defense over offense when it came to their early draft picks.
There is one pick we don’t have to talk about. Kaapo Kakko was the clear second overall pick and his selection radically altered the Blueshirts’ look at forward. Ranger fans are justifiably giddy over the addition of the star prospect, but looking at the overall depth of the organization, there is cause for concern, particularly up front.
