Pavel Buchnevich, the New York Rangers third round selection in 2013 (75th overall), made the jump to North America for the 2016-17 season. After making a great impression during training camp, Buchnevich earned a spot on the team.
Injuries and coaching controversy limited Buchnevich’s time with the team, but it would be hard to call his season unsuccessful. The young Russian has potential to be an extremely important piece of the Rangers present and future.
If the issues that affected his season are rectified in the coming year, it is quite likely we will see a very different Pavel Buchnevich.
