OTTAWA, Ontario — Doesn’t really matter that Mika Zibanejad wasn’t given the captaincy of the Rangers — yet. He is proving to be the engine that drives this team.

The Swedish center has now started this season absolutely on fire, putting up a hat trick in the first 32:07 of the team’s 4-1 win over the Senators on Saturday night. Following Zibanejad’s four-point performance (one goal, three assists) in the season-opener on Thursday, he’s on pace for … well, a great season.
