The NHL Department of Player Safety has suspended Matt Rempe 4 games.

The DoPS found that Rempe’s decision to flare his elbow up and in a dangerous fashion into Siegenthaler, as well as the injury on the play, played a role in the suspension.
The DoPS explanation on the four-game Matt Rempe suspension: "Rempe chooses to flare his elbow both up and away from his body in dangerous fashion, driving it directly into the head of Siegenthaler with substantial force.
