Jesper Fast out 2-4 weeks with upper body injury

The Rangers announced Sunday that forward Jesper Fast will miss the next 2-4 weeks with an upper body injury. Fast is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights at Madison Square Garden.

Forward Boo Nieves, who was called up from AHL Hartford on Saturday, is playing, and listed as the team’s fourth line center, with rookie Lias Andersson, a healthy scratch in Friday’s 4-3 overtime loss to Arizona, playing left wing on the fourth line, and Ryan Strome on the right. However, Rangers coach David Quinn, in his pregame media briefing, said Hayes was a game-time decision, so if Hayes, who crashed heavily into the boards near the end of Friday’s game, cannot play, then Matt Beleskey would enter the lineup and some other juggling of forwards would be necessary.
