Amidst the hoopla and activity of trade deadline day, some New York Rangers injury news has surfaced. Jacob Trouba, who has missed recent practices with a lower-body injury, will miss 2-3 weeks of action, per President and General Manager Chris Drury.

This news makes the acquisition of Chad Ruhwedel earlier today more immediately significant, as he could draw into the lineup immediately. While Zac Jones — who did not get moved before the deadline — could also get some games in Trouba’s absence, it stands to reason that the Rangers will lean towards Ruhwedel given his veteran status and the fact that he’s a right-handed shot.
