The New York Rangers have now lost two games in a row to big rivals who are fighting for their playoff lives. While the Rangers are sitting pretty in their ivory tower; the fan base, depending on who you ask, isn’t shying away from smashing the panic button. Is the cause for concern valid? Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. While there are certainly things to consider, it’s also worth reminding ourselves that there’s a very good chance this team is, to some extent, picking and choosing their spots to go the extra mile in attempts to preserve their energy for what is hopefully going to be a long playoff run.
