It was not very long ago that the mere thought of Henrik Lundqvist finishing with a goals against average over 2.50 was not only laughable but blasphemous. However, since he hit 35 in the 2016-17 season his GAA has been recorded at 2.74, 2.98, and 3.04. This season after last night’s shelling it sits at 3.18 over 25 games.
Let’s be fair and honest
To be fair, this decline in play does not sit squarely on Hank’s shoulders. There’s a lot that goes into the game of hockey which is the quintessential team sport. Between the rebuild, and the Rangers defensive structure which is not being talked about enough, Henrik looks a shell of himself.
