In today’s polarized political environment, let me put a spin on it in Rangerstown. Henrik Lundqvist is still your #1 goalie. Yup, The King is still The King in Rangers net. I don’t care how well Alex Georgiev has played, if the playoffs started tomorrow and the Blueshirts were in it, Lundqvist would be manning the pipes. End of story…no ifs, ands, or buts.
Still Adjusting
There is no question that statistically and even using the eye test, Georgiev has been the better goalie. That has more to do with Lundqvist’s steep drop in starts than his age, because he doesn’t look slower to me.
