Greg McKegg eager to make Rangers debut vs. Oilers

Greg McKegg, as expected, will make his Rangers debut Saturday against the Oilers after sitting out the first two games as a healthy scratch.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to be able to contribute,” the 27-year-old winger said. “I think of myself as a well-rounded energy guy who can create offense by using my speed and getting in on the forecheck and being disruptive.

“I want to fill that role.”

McKegg, who will fill the lineup opening created by Vlad Namestnikov’s trade to Ottawa, is on a one-year, $750,000 contract he signed as a free agent after leaving Carolina.
