Nicknamed “The Cat” as a junior player for his quick reflexes as a 5’7” netminder, Francis was a legend in the hockey community who appeared in 95 NHL games, 22 of which came with the New York Rangers from 1948 to 1952, but was known best for his work behind the bench and in the front office.
