Artemi Panarin jump-starts Rangers' win over Bruins

BOSTON – Artemi Panarin doesn’t score too many goals from inside the goal crease, but he did on Friday, and it turned out to be the go-ahead goal in the Rangers’ 5-2 win over the Boston Bruins in their nationally televised Black Friday matinee.

Panarin drove the net and deflected in a pass from Julien Gauthier at 11:35 of the third period for his fifth goal of the season to break a 2-2 tie. Gauthier set up an insurance goal by Alexis Lafreniere to make it 4-2, and Jacob Trouba added an empty-net goal to close the books on the Rangers’ third straight victory, and their seventh win in the last eight, to improve their record on the season to 13-4-3.
