Zack Wheeler undergoes six months of bone-strengthening injections

Mets RHP Zack Wheeler has been receiving bone-strengthening injections every day throughout the last six months as part of an effort to ebound from a stress reaction in his right arm, he said to the New York Post.

Wheeler was sidelined in July after suffering the injury and he wanted to take the extra precaution.

"It needed two full months of rest," Wheeler said. "I got that, and then I've been taking these shots every day for the past six months. The medicine is called Forteo and it is supposed to strengthen your bones, so hopefully that helps.
