Zack Wheeler signs with Phillies in over $100 million splash

Zack Wheeler is now an enemy of the Mets.

The free-agent righty agreed to a deal with the NL East rival Phillies on Wednesday, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed. The deal is for five years and over $100 million, according to ESPN.com.

Wheeler, 29, has been one of the more sought-after pitchers in free agency in the tier right below Gerrit Cole and Stephen Strasburg.

The Mets were not considered among the serious suitors to retain Wheeler. They will receive draft pick compensation after he turned down their qualifying offer following the season.
